Wake Forest wins three matches during Spain trip

Wake Forest picked up wins against Atletico Madrid trialists, the Real Madrid U18 team and UE Cornella’s U19 team during a spring break trip to Spain.

Jon Bakero, who is from Sitges, Spain, scored three goals in the first two matches and Steven Echevarria picked up goals in the first and third match of the trip. The Demon Deacons beat Atletico Madrid 3-0, Real Madrid U18s 3-0 and UE Cornella U19s 1-0.

Jacori Hayes scored the lone goal in the match against UE Cornella. Tane Gent also found the back of the net in the win over the Real Madrid U18s. You can see a recap video of the trip below.

Wake returns home to open their spring slate against Virginia Tech on March 19 and also has games scheduled against UNC Greensboro, Kentucky, Elon and VCU.
