Virginia recruit training with Fulham and Leicester City

Virginia recruit and DC United Academy forward Lucas Mendes is getting an opportunity to train next week with Leicester City and Fulham.

The 18-year-old from Arlington, Virginia, has scored 19 goals over the last two seasons for the DC United U18 team and was most recently called up to the U.S. U20 team for their Florida camp in January.

He’s part of an impressive recruiting class coming to Virginia in the fall that includes Portland Timbers Academy midfielder Terrell Lowe, FC Dallas Academy midfielder Weston McKennie, New England Revolution Academy forward Aaron James, Philadelphia Union Academy duo Raheem Taylor-Parkes and Jerren Nixon.
