U.S. Under-18 Milk Cup roster announced

International

milkcupU.S. Under-18 Men’s National Team head coach Javier Perez has named an 18-man roster for the upcoming Northern Ireland Milk Cup that includes seven incoming college freshman and four other college commits.

UCLA leads the way with first-year players Michael Amick and Brian Iloski along with 2014 commit John Requejo Jr. on the roster.

Georgetown freshman Alex Muyl and 2014 commit Christopher Lema give the Hoyas a strong presence on the squad, which also includes Wake Forest freshman Jacori Hayes, Virginia’s Jordan Allen and Furman’s Trevor Haberkorn.

Defender Matthew Miazga had been committed to joining Michigan for the fall season but decided in May to forego that commitment and sign as a homegrown player with the New York Red Bulls.

Andrija Novakovich (Marquette) and Ahinga Selemani (UC Santa Barbara) round out the college commits on the team, which will face Mexico on July 29, host Northern Ireland on July 31 and Denmark on Aug. 2. The U.S. is a two-time Milk Cup winner (2005 and 2010) and was the runner-up to Paraguay in 2006.
