One of the powerhouse programs of the two-year college scene, Tyler Junior College (Texas), was denied what would have been their fifth national title in seven years by a double overtime goal from Max Blackmore that broke a scoreless tie and gave Louisburg (North Carolina) their first NJCAA Division 1 title.

The title game was a rematch of the 2012 championship when Tyler beat Louisburg 1-0 in overtime.

The Division III title stayed in New York for the sixth straight year, but was won by Nassau Community College for the first time since they were back-to-back champions in 1997 and 1998.

Nassau ended their 17-year national championship drought in convincing fashion with a 4-0 win over Bunker Hill (Massachusetts).
