South Florida defender Brendan Hines-Ike inks contract in Sweden

South Florida senior defender Brendan Hines-Ike is heading to the Sweden first division after signing a four-year deal with Orebro SK.

The Colorado native who spent two years in the now defunct Chivas USA Academy transferred to South Florida after spending his first three seasons at Creighton. His inclusion on the list of invitees for the upcoming MLS Combine signals that there was MLS club interest.

Other former collegians in the Swedish first division include goalkeeper Matt Pyzdrowski (Marquette, 2006-2009) and midfielder Ema Boateng (UC Santa Barbara, 2012) at Helsingborgs IF, forward Anthony Allison (D2 Wilmington, 2006-09) at Umea FC, forward Fredrik Brustad (Stetson 2008-2010) at AIK and midfielder Daneil Keat (Dartmouth, 2006-10) at Falkenberg.
