Homegrowns

Georgetown junior midfielder Alex Muyl is officially leaving college early to sign a homegrown contract with the New York Red Bulls.

The New York City native was announced as the Red Bulls’ eighth homegrown player on Tuesday. He joins Hoyas teammate Brandon Allen, and Virginia freshman Derrick Etienne as recent signings.

Muyl scored 12 goals and had 25 assists in 62 games and 51 starts during his three years on the Hilltop. His 10 assists this season were second in the Big East (behind Fabian Herbers, who led the nation with 17).
