Penn State tops Duke for women’s championship

Senior Raquel Rodriguez made the most of her second chance at a national championship, scoring a goal in the 72nd minute to lead Penn State’s women’s soccer team to their first ever national championship.

Rodriguez was a freshman when the Nittany Lions lost to North Carolina in the title game in 2012. Three years later with another chance at the trophy, it was her sixth goal of the season that provided all the offense needed in Penn State’s eighth-straight shutout and 15th of the season.
