NYCFC’s homegrown claim on Wake Forest freshman midfielder Jack Harrison has been denied by Major League Soccer, according to a report in NYCFC blog Hudson River Blue.

The claim was a stretch to begin with since Harrison was a part-time guest player on a youth club affiliate of the Major League Soccer when he wasn’t playing high school soccer in Massachusetts.

Now that it’s out of the way, MLS will try to convince Harrison to leave school early and sign a Generation adidas deal. If he signs, he would be one of the top picks in the MLS SuperDraft later this month.
