Maryland adding transfers Jake Rozhansky and Gordon Wild
Maryland may have just become the team to beat in 2016. According to Travis Clark at TopDrawerSoccer.com, Virginia midfielder Jake Rozhansky and USC Upstate forward Gordon Wild are joining the Terps.
Rozhansky was reportedly leaving Virginia to pursue a professional career in Europe, but it looks like only the leaving Virginia part of that initial report was true. Rozhansky had a bit of a disappointing year after making a name for himself in Virginia’s 2014 title run, but he’s still one of the top prospects in the game who will fill the void left by Mael Corboz for the Terps.
Wild seemingly came out of nowhere this season, dominating the nation’s scoring charts and finishing the season tied for the lead in goals at 16 with Seattle’s David Olsen. The German will turn 21 in the fall so he’s not a traditional aged freshman and he’ll face much stingier defenses in the Big 10 so it will be interesting to track his progress from a small program to one of college soccer’s powerhouses.
