Junior college All-American Jason Romero transferring to UCLA

Forward Jason Romero is continuing his college soccer career at UCLA. The Pima Community College standout had 32 goals and 12 assists in 2015 while leading the Aztecs to a third-place finish at the NJCAA National Tournament.

The San Jose, California native played at Yavapai College his first year. It’s not clear whether he’ll have one or two years of eligibility at UCLA. Ben Polk was granted only one year of eligibility after spending his first two seasons at different community colleges in New York.

UCLA is returning two of its top scorers in forwards Abu Danladi (6 goals, 10 assists) and Seyi Adekoya (12 goals, 1 assist), but did lose senior forward Larry Ndjock (3 goals, 1 assist).
