Jordan Morris officially a Seattle Sounders player now

Homegrowns

College soccer’s biggest star will be playing for his hometown Seattle Sounders, after all.

Despite an attractive offer to play in Germany the MAC Hermann Trophy winner turned down, the former Stanford star will stay close to home to begin his professional career. His contract is reportedly the richest ever for a homegrown player joining a Major League Soccer club.

Morris is the seventh homegrown player to sign with Seattle’s first time. Denver midfielder Jordan Schweitzer signed with the club earlier this month.

Previous homegrown signings by the Sounders include Jones (Washington), Aaron Kovar (Stanford), Victory Mansaray, Sean Okoli (Wake Forest) and DeAndre Yedlin (Akron).
