James Hamilton named new head coach at Iona

Coaches

Iona College assistant coach James Hamilton was promoted earlier this month to head coach of the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference program.

The Scotland native had already been serving as interim head coach following the departure of 13-year veteran Fernando Barboto, who took the head coaching job at NJIT to be closer to family.

Hamilton was an assistant with the Gaels for one season after serving as an assistant and associate head coach at Division II Dominican College, his alma mater, from 2010-15.
