Indiana, North Carolina commits win national player of the year honors


Two Division 1 recruits have been chosen y the National Soccer Coaches Association of America for the 2015 high school and youth player of the year awards.

North Carolina commit Cameron Lindley, who plays his club soccer for Indiana Fire in the U.S. Development Academy, was named the youth player of the year while Indiana commit AJ Palazzolo was chosen for the high school player of the year award.

Palazzolo, a defender, was chosen for his play with Christian Brothers College High School in St. Louis, Mo., but he also plays club soccer for St. Louis Scott Gallagher and has spent time with the U.S. U17 team.

Lindley is a midfielder for the Chicago Fire’s Indiana-based academy who has scored three goals in 10 starts so far this season. He spent time in the U17 residency program in Florida and has also played high school basketball at Carmel High School.
