Gordon Wild starts preseason with Maryland right where he left off

News

Gordon Wild kind of came out of nowhere last year as a freshman at USC Upstate who finished the season tied with Seattle forward David Olsen for most goals in Division 1 with 16.

This season the sophomore from Germany who turns 21 in October will have a lot more eyes on him at a much bigger program in Maryland as he tries to prove that his first season was no fluke.

So far, so good for Wild who registered a brace and added an assist in the Terps 6-2 win over Tulsa in an exhibition game Sunday afternoon.

Wild and his new team open up the regular season against UCLA at the StubHub Center in Carson, California on Friday, August 26. Before that they host Navy and Xavier for preseason matches in College Cup on August 17 and 20.
