Goalkeeper from Danish champions signs to play at Evansville

News

A Danish goalkeeper who spent time on the senior level with Champions League club Aalborg BK has signed on to play college soccer at Evansville.

Frederik Reimer, a native of Vester Hessing, Denmark, was in the AaB squad of the four-time Danish Superliga champs during their Champions League and Europa League matches in the 2014-2015 season and appeared in friendlies against IK Start and Torpedo Moscow.

The 6-foot-4 amateur youth player didn’t see the field or make the 18 in any of the matches but gained valuable experience he’ll bring to coach Marshall Ray’s second season at the helm.

He’ll join the Aces along with a pair of signees from Indiana in Ian Gammon and Eric McDougal in the spring. Gammon was a member of the Indiana Fire U18 team as a defender and McDougal was a standout at Carmel High School and Carmel United SC.
