Division II All-American signs with Charlotte Independence

Lewis Hilton, a senior midfielder at Division II Young Harris College, has signed on with USL club Charlotte Independence.

Hilton, a four-year starter from Newquay, England, scored 25 goals and had 30 assists in his college soccer career. He was a second-team All-American this year, his second straight NSCAA All-American honor and was also a two-time PDL All-Conference selection with the Ocala Stampede.

His signing was announced Wednesday by the Independence along with former Clemson goalkeeper Cody Mizell, who most recently played with Icelandic club Knattspyrnufélagið Fram.
