Denver adds Oregon State transfer Graham Smith

Oregon State sophomore midfielder Graham Smith is transferring to a school he helped knock out of the NCAA Tournament in 2014.

Denver confirmed Smith’s transfer in a news release on Monday.

The Highlands Ranch, Colorado native started all 38 games for the Beavers over the last two seasons, collecting three assists all in his freshman year. One of those assists set up Khiry Shelton’s game-winning goal that knocked Denver out of the NCAA Tournament in 2014.

Smith joins a Denver program that went unbeaten during the regular season, dropping its only game in the second round of the NCAA Tournament to SMU. The program is graduating only two players in goalkeeper Dan Jackson and defensive midfielder Jordan Schweitzer.
