Brandon Allen leads list of top performers in Week 10

Georgetown forward Brandon Allen is heating up just as his impressive career is about to come to an end in the nation’s capital. The senior from North Jersey scored the equalizer and overtime winner in the Hoyas’ 3-2 win over Seton Hall on Wednesday afternoon and scored the game-winner to beat Villanova on Saturday.

Allen now has four game-winners this season and 21 for his career. For his career, he has 47 goals and 16 assists.

Other top performers from the 10th week of the college soccer season include:

Melvin Blair, Canisius
The redshirt freshman from Jamaica had a hat trick and assist on two other goals in a 5-2 win over Rider on Wednesday and added two more goals in a 3-1 win over Manhattan on Saturday.

Matt Vasquenza, Forward, Xavier
Vasquenza was the hero in Xavier’s win over Creighton, scoring the late game-winner to hand the Blue Jays their first loss. The game-winner was the second in a row for Vasquenza.

Guillermo Delgado, Forward, Delaware
Scored two goals and added an assist in the Blue Hens’ 4-0 win over James Madison on Wednesday.

Jesse Klug, Bucknell
Had three assists in Bucknell’s 5-0 win over Loyola on Wednesday.

Tobenna Uzo, Forward, Coastal Carolina
Scored the game-winner and assisted on Coastal Carolina’s two other goals in a 3-2 win over Winthrop on Wednesday.

Fabian Herbers, Forward, Creighton
Scored the opening goal and assisted on both of Creighton’s other goals in a 3-1 win over Providence on Saturday and assisted on Creighton’s only goal in a 2-1 loss to Xavier.

David Olsen, Forward, Seattle
Scored a hat trick in Seattle’s 4-2 win over Incarnate Word.

Edgardo Mira, Midfielder, Oral Roberts
Scored the program’s first hat trick since 2007 in ORU’s 4-1 win over IPFW on Saturday.

Abu Danladi, Forward, UCLA
Dished out three assists in the Bruins 4-2 win over Akron on Sunday.

Jordi Lluch, Defender, Winthrop
The senior scored three goals and assisted on another in Winthrop’s two games on the week.

Billy Heavner, Goalkeeper, UMBC
Heavner had a pair of shutouts on the week, including an eight-save performance against UMass Lowell.

Jack Harrison, Midfielder, Wake Forest
The freshman continued his impressive rookie campaign with two goals and two assists in wins over Davidson and Louisville.

Christian Thierjung, Forward, Cal
The junior playmaker had another fine week for the surging Bears, scoring a couple goals, one a game-winner.

Danny Deakin, Midfielder, South Carolina
The Gamecocks’ leading scorer continued his fine run of form with a goal in each of South Carolina’s wins over FIU and Old Dominion.
